We Care About You
Our group is a team of family physicians committed to providing excellent care for you and your baby during this important time in your life. We manage all of our deliveries at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. We will coordinate the management of all of your pregnancy needs until after you give birth and follow you until 7 weeks postpartum, at which time you will be transitioned back to the care of your family doctor.
During your pregnancy, you may be referred to one of the local obstetricians or other specialists, but we will still be your primary caregivers.

We have been serving families and delivering babies since 2000.
In recent years, many family doctors have stopped delivering babies, creating a need for skilled doctors to help families navigate the challenges of pregnancy, labour & delivery, and the postpartum days.
The Abbotsford Maternity Group was founded by a team of family doctors wanting to focus entirely on helping people thrive during pregnancy, delivery, and beyond. Twenty years later, we deliver over one hundred babies a month and love watching each and every one of our patients' families grow.
Meet our new postpartum midwife
My name is Opkar, I’m a Registered Midwife, and I was born and raised in the Lower Mainland. I discovered my passion for perinatal and reproductive health while completing my Health Sciences degree at SFU. That led me to pursue midwifery, with the goal of providing high quality, culturally safe care that is evidence-based and holistic. I went on to complete my midwifery education at UBC, where I received clinical training in both hospital and community settings.
When I’m not working, I’m usually with my husband, wrangling our two young kids and two dogs, probably watching a funny movie or folding some laundry. Life can be a little chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside families and offer support, guidance, and compassion during such a life-changing time. I’m excited to be a part of the team and look forward to serving the families of Abbotsford and beyond.
